Radio Interview: Caroline Kende-Robb on BBC Radio 5 live
Following the launch of the report "A Dangerous Delay: The cost of late response to early warnings in the 2011 drought in the Horn of Africa" by Save the Children UK and Oxfam, listen to Caroline Kende-Robb talking about hunger in Victoria Derbyshire's programme on BBC Radio 5 live.
Talking about food security, Kofi Annan said “Achieving global food and nutrition security is the
challenge of our time, and our success in alleviating widespread hunger will depend, in large part, on our ability to identify the early warning signs of food crises, and respond immediately and effectively.
Hunger is often a failure of leadership. The looming crisis in the Sahel is indicative of the pressing need to develop effective early warning systems, and doing so will require strong leadership from and cooperation among our governments and politicians.”
