Shared Responsability and Mutual Accountability for Good Governance in Africa
On May 17, Panel Members Professor Peter Eigen and General Olusegun Obasanjo, with generous support from the German government, convened a one-day meeting on mutual accountability and shared responsibility for good governance in Africa.
The meeting brought together a number of experts, including the former President of Botswana and winner of the Ibrahim Prize for African Governance, Festus Mogae, Germany’s Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development, Dirk Niebel, and the anti-corruption activists John Githongo from Kenya and Nuhu Ribadu from Nigeria to discuss possible areas of engagement for the Africa Progress Panel.
