Africa’s energy: What’s the new deal?

The Africa Progress Panel will be participating at the Africa Development Banks’(AfDB) Annual Meeting in Lusaka, Zambia, from 23 – 27 May.

High level side event

The APP, collaborated with the AfDB, The Elders, and the B Team, to host a high level side event on Wednesday 25 May from 16:30 to 18:30 (GMT + 2). The side event, entitled Africa’s Energy: What’s the New Deal? brought together heads of state, business leaders and government officials to discuss how Africa can achieve universal access to power by 2025.

Mr. Kofi Annan, Chair of the APP and “Champion” of the New Deal, provided the opening remarks along with Dr Akinwumi Adesina, president of the African Development Bank.

The side event was moderated by Ms Bronwyn Nielsen, Editor-in-Chief, CNBC Africa.
